On April 17th, following an anonymous tip, agents of the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board (ABC), officers of the Marion Police Department, and deputies of the Perry County Sheriff’s Office raided a house party in Marion.
Following several complaints over the past several months about house parties occurring within the area, anonymous citizens found out the location of one particular party ahead of time. “The Tuscaloosa District Officer got an anonymous tip concerning the exact location of where this party was going to be held,” explained Bob Martin, an Attorney for the ABC Board. “We get these calls more often than many probably imagine. One of our primary focuses is to keep minors away from alcohol,” he concluded.
The landowners, William and Kathy Holifield, both 49 of Marion were arrested and are facing charges related to operating an open house party.
Patrick Wayne Poole, 30, of Brent was arrested for disorderly conduct and harassment. Those arrested for minor in possession of alcohol are as follows:
Justin Taylor Sims, 20, of Centreville; Colby Tanner Moreland, 19, of Centreville; Gary Keith Elam, 20, of Centreville; Gary Alexander Tidwell, 19, of Brent; Payton Randall Cooper, 20, of Centreville; Mary Lauren Souders, 20, of Tuscaloosa; Kyle Alexander Pate, 18, of Brent; Thomas Murray Conroy, 20, of West Blocton; Kelsea Danyelle Sims, 20, of Marion; Amy Denise Holifield, 18, of Brent; Scotty Adam Hicks, 19 of Brent; and Robert Eugene Royster, 18, of Marion.
