"We are the front lines of truth advocacy. Major media outlets have traded truth for sensationalism, and online news sites have no real legal concerns to keep them in check. Digital text is not ink. The community newspapers are left as the only legally challenged body of information. We cannot afford to lie. We cannot afford to be inaccurate. We are the last stand for freedom of the press. We are the last of the true journalists."

  1. Let's talk about SB2 Senator Ward and Representative Weaver. As an educator, I am disappointed and insulted concerning your recent vote. The people of Bibb County were instrumental in getting the two of you elected. Several hundred of those people are educators and support workers. Now that you have gotten elected to this office, you no longer seem to care about the political rights of those people. You have sided with a governor with a political vendetta to effectively tell us we have no right to speak out. Mr. Ward, I have not forgotten that you also supported Governor Riley's version of a code of ethics for teachers. The "checks" you have presented to some of our schools mean little to nothing when you choose to spend time and money depriving us of our political rights instead of finding solutions to our enormous financial problems. The people of Bibb County need elected officials that are really on our side - not those who seem to be when the photo opportunity is available or political ambitions require it. Educators do help those who have political ambitions when they truly care about our issues. I will do my part to make sure the people of Bibb County know who those people really are and are not.
