The Bibb County Office of Community Service Programs of West
Alabama visited Eoline on Saturday June 9 with a small group of
smiling volunteers and a whole lot of plants and flowers. They were there to bring more renewal
to the small community still rising from rubble of an April 27, 2011 tornado.
Dozens of new plants promising a variety of colors and
beauty were placed into the grounds at homes and other establishments in the
portion of Eoline, which was struck by the tornado.
“We hope this spreads even more hope,” said Bibb County
Coordinator of CSPWA, Taneka Tucker.
“So many plants were destroyed along with these homes on that day and
this is a symbol of renewal.”
The group and its volunteers also gave out monetary
donations as they visited the community.
